It is known as an advertisement to all those messages that it makes known, that disseminates or promotes a particular product, service or event.
The advertisements can be of two types fundamentally, according to their purpose:
- Commercial, when its main objective is to move the public to buy or consume a certain product or service; It is one of the key marketing tools to boost sales and promote the image of a brand.
- Non-commercial, when it mainly focuses on spreading or communicating a message: making a public service, promoting the image of institutions or foundations, or making political propaganda, among other things.
The advertisement is characterized by always seeking to be attractive and convincing, and capture the interest of the audience to which it is aimed, so that it has an effective effect on your communication.
Advertisements usually appear in the media such as radio, press or television; on the internet, within web pages, on banners and on social networks, or on billboards on public roads.
In this sense, advertisements may appear in different formats depending on the medium to which they are intended: graphics, for print, billboards, posters and digital media; audios, for the radio mainly; or audiovisuals, which can be placed on television, movies, or video playback platforms on the internet.
The commercial is the most important source of income for the media.
